Anuraga Karikkin Vellam movie review

Anuraga Karikkin Vellam is the latest release in Mollywood today. The movie is coming from a debutant director named Khalid Rahman who was earlier worked under master directors like Anwar Rasheed and Amal Neerad. Naveen Bhaskar had written the screenplay of this family drama and this movie was bankrolled by August Cinemas owned by Prithv Raj Sukumaran, Santhosh Sivan, Arya and Shaji Nadeshan, which had given us some very good movies in the past.  Asif Ali and Biju Menon played the central characters in this movie and new face Rejisha Vijayan had played the female lead in it.

The plot centered around the characters played by Asif Ali, Biju Menon, Rejisha Vijayan and Asha Sharath.. Biju Menon playing a police officer named Reghu who isa bit arrogant in his behavior to others. Asha Sharath is his wife Suma in this movie who is a silent housewife. Abhilash is their son who is an Architect, but yet to find a permanent job of his own. Abhilash is in a relationship with a girl named Elizabeth played by Rejisha Vijayan. At a point in his life, Abhilash lost his interest in that relationship and break up with her. Elizabeth was not a type who let that go very easily. At the same time, Reghu who got transfer to traffic duty accidently saw his past lover named Anuradha and wanted to talk to her. Reghu tries to get her contact number and from there the story moves forward focusing on the life of both father and son.

Khalid Rahman had made a terrific debut by making a complete class family entertainer .Anuraga Karikkin Vellam is a movie that entertains us and at the same time makes us realize about certain small things in life which we chose to overlook. Khalid Rahman had connected with the younger generation as well as with family audience in a great way by narrating this story honestly. The screenplay by Naveen Bhaskar was an amazing one which included all tiny details of our family life, life with our friends and the things happens in our love life etc. Both the director and writer made the film just like a mirror which is hold against us to make us see what really happening in our lives as well. They just made the viewer to travel along with the movie and feel the characters.

The performances from Biju Menon once again proved that he is indeed one of the versatile actors we have now in Mollywood. He handled the character with all the maturity it needed to make us convince the situation he is in.  Abhilash is one of the best performances from Asif Ali till now and he had portrayed all the frustrations and mental struggle that a youngster goes through these days. Asha Sharath,  Sreenath Bhasi, Soubin Shaheer, Maniyan Pillai Raju, Sudheer Karamana, Irshad, Sudhi Koppa etc also did a great job in the movie. The best performance in this film had come from none other than the heroine of this movie. It was indeed a grand debut by Rejisha Vijayan who had just made the character Elizabeth picture perfect. Her performance was such a fabulous one that she ceased to be Rejisha and just started to live as Elizabeth on screen.

Jimshi Khalid was the DOP of the movie and he provided some great realistic frames for this movie. Prashant Pillai’s music was also too good and it really blended with the theme discussed by this flick. Noufal’S editing too was smooth and kept a smooth flow till the very end.

Anuraga Karikkina Vellam is a rare cinematic experience, which makes you see your own life on a silver screen just like you see yourself in a mirror. It is a great entertainer, but it does not end with that. It is also a movie that makes you aware about certain small things in life which make your life, a happier one.
