Ajay Devgun to play the lead in the Hindi remake of Mohanlal’s Oppam

Oppam, starred by Mohanlal and directed by Priyadarshan had released here in Mollywood in this year Onam season. This movie produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas had become the second biggest blockbuster in this year in Mollywood and also become the second highest grosser in Mollywood Cinema History as well. Mohanlal’s own Puli Murugan stands at top with more than 135 crore gross from its worldwide run. Oppam had grossed over 63 crores from its worldwide run and it had surpassed Mohanlal’s own Drishyam in its Kerala gross as well.

Then came a news that Oppam is remaking to Tamil and Hindi. Reports came at first that Kamala Hasan may do the Tamil remake of Oppam and either Aamir Khan or Sharukh Khan may play the lead in its Hindi remake. But, now report is coming in that Ajay Devgun has been roped in to play the lead in the Hindi remake of the movie, which will be directed by Priyadarshan himself.Ajay Devgun had played the lead in the Hindi remake of Mohanlal’s Drishyam earlier. The Telugu dubbed version of Oppam is titled as Kanupapa and it will hit the screens there on the 30th of December this year. There is no news about the Tamil remake of this movie now.
