Miya goes Kollywood with a horror flick

Actor Miya goes Kollywood with her upcoming horror flick Rum. Rum, which is written and directed by Sai Bharath is touted and a heist-horror flick and first of its kind in Tamil Cinema. Apart from Miya, the movie also features Hrishikesh, Narain, Vivek, and Sanchita Shetty in important roles. “I play Tulasi, a BSc student. It is my first experience with a horror film and I hope the audience will like me. The audience can expect a performance-oriented role from me in it,” says Miya about her character.

When asked about the experience of acting with Narein and Vivek, Miya said: “I had met him (Narein) only once before, at an event, but never had a conversation. As we are the only two Malayalis on Rum’s set, we keep chatting in Malayalam all the time.” “He (Vivek) has been part of around 500 films so far, and you don’t get to act with such an experienced person every day. Despite being a prolific actor, he has no airs of being one. I am looking forward to shoot the scenes with him,” she adds. The major location of the movie is Chennai.

Miya has also signed another Kollywood flick tilted Amara Kavyam. The movie is directed by Jeeva Shankar and has Vijay Antony in the male lead. Miya had a flourishing year in Mollywood with the hit Anarkkali to her credit. She will soon appear as cameo in the upcoming Mollywood flick Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti.

She will play a cameo with a retro look in the movie. Earlier, her portrayal of a retro character in the Kollywood flick Amarakavyam earned her widespread acclaim. Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti brings that look into Mollywood through a cameo.

“Miya does a guest role in the film and she will be presented with a 90s look. She has no love interest in the story, and as of now, this is all I can reveal about her character,” says the director. “Though mine is a cameo, I loved the story. I wear, ethnic costumes like daavani in the movie, which Mollywood audience has not seen me in, yet. The hairdo is also quite reminiscent of the popular yesteryear styles,” says Miya.
