Lijo Jose Pellissery ropes in Mammootty for his next

Mollywood’s craziest director Lijo Jose Pellissery roped in Mammootty for his next. The megastar will start shooting for Lijo’s next directorial venture after the police story Kasaba. There were rumors, taking their rounds for a long time about a possible collaboration between Mammootty and the Big Barrel director. Now, producer turned actor Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas turned up with selfie with Mammootty and Lijo.

“Guess what’s cooking !! The picture says it all….With Mamookka , Lijo pelliserry , PF mathews & Sandra in bangarapet,” says Vijay Babu’s post on his Facebook wall. “A dream will come true soon ! With Mamookka , Lijo Jose Pellissery , PF mathews and Vijay Babu. Super excited,” says Sandra’s post on her Facebook page.

According to latest reports, the untitled flick is produced by Sandra and Vijay Babu under the banner Friday Film House and is written by National Award winning scriptwriter PF Mathews. There are unconfirmed reports that the movie will be an independent adaptation of renowned Malayalam writer OV Vijayan’s legendary novel Khasakkinte Ithihasam.

Lijo Jose Pellissery is considered as the most talented and craziest director of contemporary Mollywood. Even though his first two directorial ventures Nayakan (2010) and City of God (2011) sank at the box office, both flicks earned him critical an artistic triumph. His distinct narrative techniques and bold approach towards his medium were hailed by critics.

He broke all the stereotypes and conventions with his third flick Amen, which was the surprise super hit of 2013. Amen became his first box office hit and featured some stunning performances from Fahad Fazil, Kalabhavan Mani, Swathi Reddy, and Indrajith. Lijo cemented his daredevil status in Mollywood with his star studded 2015 flick Double Barrel.

The movie split film fraternity into two halves. It was severely criticized and hailed as a cult flick at the same time. The movie featured actors Prithviraj, Indrajith, Arya, Sunny Wayne, and Asif Ali. Even though failed to reach out the high expectations, Double Barrel was first of its kind in Mollywood for more than one reason.

Mammootty is currently busy shooting for Nithin Renji Panikker’s debut flick Kasaba, in which the actor appears a cop. The shooting is in progress in Bangalore and the megastar will join Lijo Jose Pellissery’s amp soon after the pack up.
