Don Max to direct Anoop Menon and Murali Gopi

Editor Don Max is all set to make his directorial debut. The editor turned director has roped in actors Anoop Menon and Murali Gopi to play the lead roles in his maiden venture. Don, who has a number of blockbusters in his credit as editor also pens the script for the movie. It is tentatively titled as 10 Kalpanakal. “It’s a family-centric movie and has a lot of thrilling moments in it,” says Don.

Don, who started his Mollywood career with Shaji Kailas’s The Tiger in 2005, is known for many innovations in the area of spot editing. He became the first Mollywood editor who edits the movie on location. Along with Mollywood flicks, Don is a popular name in Kollywood with the movies like Aadhavan and Sura. His last flick in Kollywood was Jilla, which earned him positive reviews.

This is the second collaboration between Anoop Menon and Murali Gopi this year. They appear in the lead roles in the upcoming Mollywood flick Pa Va aka Pappanekkurichum Varkkeyekkurichum. The movie features two of the leading screen writer-actors in the lead roles. Both of them sport a never seen before octogenarian look in the movie. Anoop Menon and Murali Gopi will be seen as 80 years olds in Pa Va, which is directed by ad filmmaker Sooraj Tom and written by Ajish Thomas.

Murali Gopi portrays Pappan and Anoop will play Varkey in the movie. Murali Gopy recently posted on his Facebook wall that the shooting of the movie has kicked off. The actor also revealed a first look poster of the movie.

“I play Pappan and Anoop enacts Varkey in the movie, and the rest of the cast is yet to be finalized. Our characters are friends in the movie and both our roles will showcase us as eighty-year-olds. I can’t divulge much about the aspects of the film, as of now. We are planning to start the shooting in December,” said Murali Gopi in a conversation.

More details of the Don Max flick will be released soon. According to sources, 10 Kalapanakal will be shot extensively in Idukki. The last flick which shot in Idukki was Fahad Fazil-Dileesh Pothen-Ashique Abu team’s Maheshinte Prathikaram. Don Max will start rolling 10 Kalpanakal from April.
